Ode to a Tiger came about when voice teacher Alison Kirkpatrick approached me regarding the poetry of her great grandmother, Amelia Forrester Peterson. Alison was eager to have a collection of the poets’ work set to song for her daughter Madison who is a singer and the great great grand-daughter of the poet. This poem about a family cat, jumped out at me with its clever text and timeless humour.
